A wedding is the most romantic day of a bride’s life. What better way to play up the romance factor than with fresh flowers? There are tons of flowers to choose from, but if you want to create a classic look for a bride’s wedding, then you should opt for roses.
When it comes to flowers, roses are the definition of romance. They come in so many different colors and shades, and they create such a timeless, elegant look.
While you can certainly use roses in your bouquet and centerpieces, incorporate them in a unique way by creating a rose petal aisle. Your bride will feel as if she is floating on romance when she walks down an aisle that is carpeted in beautiful rose petals.
To create your rose petal aisle, the first thing you are going to need is the rose petals. You could choose a artificial petal, such as silk, but they won’t create the same romantic ambiance as real rose petals.
Choose the colors you would like to use. For a uniform look, opt for a single color. If you want to create a more whimsical look, choose a combination of colors and shades, such as light and dark pink, or red and white.
Gather your materials. The materials you will need to create your rose petal aisle include:
Tulle
Tons of rose petals. The more the better!
Scissors
A glue gun
Glue sticks
Flat rocks or thin tiles
Velcro
Roll the tulle out to the desired length; whatever length you would like your rose petal aisle to be.
Lay your tulle on a flat surface
Place a drop of glue under each rose petal and stick them down, individually, on the tulle. Create a random pattern, or create a more structured pattern – a monogram, for example. Note: You can use adhesive spray instead of glue.
Once the tulle is covered with petals, allow the glue to dry.
Once dry, flip the tulle over and place the hook-and-loop side of the Velcro on the back.
Place the other half of the Velcro on your rocks or tiles
Place the rocks or tiles on either side of the aisle
Adhere the Velcro on the back of the tulle to the rocks or tiles
Once in place, you will have a beautiful, romantic rose petal aisle.
